Mission Statement
Fundacion Panama (The Panama Foundation) based in Washington, D.C. is a charitable organization, not-for-profit, public, non-partisan, and tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3). It was established in 1992 with the purpose of alleviating poverty, creating social awareness of other’s needs, and providing monetary assistance to social programs in the Republic of Panama and the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C
Organized to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, one of its particular objectives is:
- To received donations from available sources in the United States and in other countries, in order to continue to foster the efforts of welfare organizations in the Republic of Panama organized and operated for internal charitable and educational purposes.
- To propose and carry out cultural fundraising events, such as fashion shows, auctions, artistic folkloric presentations, trade shows, dinner and dance galas. All, with intent to provide financial assistance to Panamanian charitable organizations in need of aid.
- To provide some financial relief to charitable organizations operated in the District of Columbia.
